We've been very busy this year, but since our move to Paraguay skateboarding has taken a backseat. Luckily I've convinced the American School of Asuncion to start an after school skateboarding club. Our short term goal is to help motivate students to do well in school and to give some of them an identity and self worth. Most of the students at ASA will not need financial help, but someof the concerns that we see can be helped by giving some of the studnets a non-traditional outlet for their creativity through skateboarding.

Another year has finished. This year Kristin and I worked with many students. Some were signed up with RampPage while others were not. We can saw that this year was a success with no failures as all the students we worked with remained in school and finished the year strong. A couple of the students had big decisions to make on whether or not to remain in school. Many of the problems, if not all of them, we contribute to lack of parent involvement. Once again we saw that all the students really needed was for a caring adult to "bug" them about school and problems that they might be dealing with in and out of school. We struggle with this every year, but in the end all the students we work with pull through. So we will continue on as always.

HarvestBoards.com just received a new batch of decks. They donated a good portion of the decks to teachers at Kennedy Middle School and Churchill High school to give away to skaters in need of short term goals to help them maintain their motivation to finish off the school year strong.
