Opportunities

  1. Simple positive role models
  2. real-project
  3. class work

  • Stage one involves the students and advisor informally getting to know each other. This includes spending time with the student outdoors, participating locally in the extreme sport of the students choice in a public area. In this stage we find the internal motivation aspect, which is an important part of the students' success. Throughout the stages we will provide a strong positive role model in the lives of the students, as many of them do not have one outside of school.
  • Stage two includes stage one and also involves finding motivating factors in the students life and potential real-life projects that the student may find interesting. We will try to work with teachers to create project that will incorporate curriculum goals to allow student to earn class credit.
  • Stage three involves helping the student in their project by giving them guidance and possible resources to help students complete course work.
  • Stage four is the final stage in which the student has completed a project and debriefs over time about what their future plans may be and how the project they completed may be incorporated into their plan.
